Since the 2022 ruling of the German Federal Labour Court, employers must record their employees' working time. Spreadsheets and paper slips make this tedious and error-prone: breaks are missing, overtime is guessed, and at month end someone has to piece the hours together.
With uttek Time, employees clock in on the PC, on their phone or at a tablet by the entrance with a PIN. The timesheet calculates target, actual, public holidays and absences automatically and keeps the overtime and leave account. Notices under the Working Hours Act – maximum hours, breaks, rest periods, Sunday work – appear immediately, and the statutory break can be deducted automatically.
Additions and corrections are logged with a reason, and month-end closing locks the times. Project times with budget and hourly rate show what can be billed; via uttek Connect they go to other programs. Time types, absence types, departments, workdays and the region for public holidays are set in the admin area.

Clock in, break, clock out
One click on the PC or phone, optionally with project and time type (work, home office, travel time, business trip). A forgotten clock-out is detected and reported. Additions with a reason; overlaps are prevented.

Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once and use the purchased version indefinitely. 12 months of updates are included; renewing afterwards is optional.
Does uttek Time meet the obligation to record working time?
uttek Time records the start, end and breaks of every working day, logs changes and points out breaches of the German Working Hours Act. How you organise recording in your company (e.g. works agreement) remains your decision; the software does not replace legal advice.
Can employees clock in without their own account?
Yes, from Pro via the clock-in terminal: a tablet at the entrance where employees clock in with their PIN. Anyone with an account can also clock in on the PC or phone.
How many employees can I create?
Any number of employees clocking in by PIN – in every edition. Users with their own account (login on PC or phone): Basic up to 5, Pro up to 30, Enterprise up to 100.
Can I pass the hours to payroll?
Yes. Timesheets are available as PDF and CSV; in Enterprise the payroll export produces a CSV with target, actual, credits, overtime, night and Sunday hours and absences per employee.
What do I need to run it?
Web space with PHP 8.2 or newer. The database (SQLite) is built in; MySQL/MariaDB is optional. A cron job is useful for reminders.
Can I try the demo?
Yes, without sign-up. Every visit gets its own demo database with sample data (trades, agency, hospitality), deleted after 24 hours.
How secure are logins and data?
Passwords are only stored as a secure hash; new passwords need at least 12 characters and are checked offline against a list of leaked passwords. Everyone can set up two-factor sign-in via an authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Aegis) with backup codes, and the admin can require it per role. After 5 failed attempts a login lockout with increasing delay applies; “forgot password” sends a single-use link valid for 1 hour. Optionally staff notes, absence notes, replies to requests and reasons in the change log are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, with the key outside the web root. The “Security (status)” page shows all measures at a glance.
