Hosted shops cost money every month, often take a share of revenue and can only be customised as far as the provider allows. uttek Shop is a lean online shop you buy once and run on your own web space – with full source code.
Customers browse the storefront by category, add items and variants to the cart, redeem coupons and order through a clear checkout with order button, terms and withdrawal confirmation. Downloads such as e-books or courses are unlocked once paid, and invoices with all mandatory details are created automatically.
In the admin you see new, paid and to-be-shipped orders, record payments, ship with tracking numbers and keep an eye on stock. Shipping methods, payment methods, tax rates, categories and customer groups are yours to configure. Via uttek Connect, orders appear in the customer history of uttek Customers.

Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once and use the purchased version indefinitely. 12 months of updates are included; renewing afterwards is optional.
Are there fees per sale?
No. uttek does not take a share of your sales. Only your payment provider’s fees apply if you use online payment.
Is the checkout legally compliant?
The checkout includes the usual building blocks for Germany: an “Order with obligation to pay” button, confirmation of terms and withdrawal, consent for digital content and pages for all mandatory information. You have to write or have reviewed your own terms, withdrawal policy, privacy policy and imprint – the sample texts in the demo are not legal advice.
Can I sell digital products as well?
Yes. E-books, templates, courses or software are delivered via a personal download link after payment, with a limited number of downloads and an expiry date.
Does the shop work for small businesses under § 19 UStG?
Yes. With one switch the shop shows no VAT and prints the § 19 UStG note on invoices and price information.
What do I need to run it?
Web space with PHP 8.2 or newer. The database (SQLite) is built in; MySQL/MariaDB is optional.
Can I try the demo?
Yes, without sign-up – shop and admin. Every visit gets its own demo database with sample data (fashion boutique, fine food & wine, digital products), deleted after 24 hours. Payments are simulated in the demo.
How secure are logins and data?
Passwords are only stored as a secure hash; new passwords need at least 12 characters and are checked offline against a list of leaked passwords. Everyone can set up two-factor sign-in via an authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Aegis) with backup codes, and the admin can require it per role. After 5 failed attempts a login lockout with increasing delay applies; “forgot password” sends a single-use link valid for 1 hour. Optionally customer and order notes are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, with the key outside the web root. The “Security (status)” page shows all measures at a glance.
