In many businesses materials are kept in several places: in the store, on the workshop shelves, in the vans and on site. Often only the person who last looked knows what is left. Things are reordered when they run out – and at stocktake the numbers do not add up.
With uttek Stock every item has a stock level per location. Goods in, a withdrawal for a job and a transfer to a van are booked in seconds – on the PC or the phone, with a barcode scanner or the phone camera. Every movement goes into a complete log; corrections need a reason, reversals are counter-entries. So you always see where materials went and what they cost.
When an item falls below its minimum stock it appears on the reorder list – quantities already on order are deducted. From Pro, one click turns it into a purchase order to the supplier (PDF and email) with partial and final deliveries. Stocktakes use count sheets on the phone or on paper; the program books the differences automatically when you finish. Via uttek Connect, paid orders from uttek Shop deduct stock by themselves.

Frequently asked questions
Who is uttek Stock for?
For trades businesses with van stock, garages with spare parts and oils, small online retailers and any business that keeps materials in several places and wants to know what is where and where it went. It is deliberately not a full ERP or accounting system.
Do I need a barcode scanner?
No. Items can be searched by name or number. If you want to scan, use a standard USB or Bluetooth scanner or the phone camera (in browsers with barcode detection, e.g. Chrome on Android). The Pro edition prints barcode labels as PDF.
How does van stock work?
Every van is its own location. Materials are transferred from the main store to the van and withdrawn on site against a job. So you see the stock per van and the material used per job, and you can count a van on its own.
How does a stocktake work?
You create a stocktake for a location, count on the phone or on the printed count sheet and enter the quantities – you can save progress at any time. When you finish, the program books the differences against the current stock and creates a report with values.
What do I need to run it?
Web space with PHP 8.2 or newer. The database (SQLite) is built in; MySQL/MariaDB is optional. A cron job is useful for notifications and housekeeping.
Can I try the demo?
Yes, without sign-up. Every visit gets its own demo database with sample data (trades business, car repair garage, online retail), deleted after 24 hours.
How secure are logins and data?
Passwords are only stored as a secure hash; new passwords need at least 12 characters and are checked offline against a list of leaked passwords. Everyone can set up two-factor sign-in via an authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Aegis) with backup codes, and the admin can require it per role. After 5 failed attempts a login lockout with increasing delay applies; “forgot password” sends a single-use link valid for 1 hour. Optionally supplier notes are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, with the key outside the web root. The “Security (status)” page shows all measures at a glance.
