What data we process

  • Order data (name, company, address, email, products ordered) to perform the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
  • Invoice data that we retain due to legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)
  • Email address for the newsletter or product notifications only after confirmation (double opt-in, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)

Cookies and tracking

We only use one technically necessary session cookie (cart, login). There are no third-party analytics or tracking services (for our own cookie-free audience measurement see below), no advertising cookies and no embedded fonts or scripts from third parties.

Chat

The chat answers questions from our FAQ. If AI mode is active, your message is transmitted to xAI LLC (USA) to generate the answer; we point this out before your first message. Please do not enter any personal data in the chat. Storage of chat histories is switched off by default. To prevent abuse, your IP address is counted only in shortened and hashed form for at most 24 hours.

Audience measurement and abuse prevention

When you visit our website, we record page views on our server – without cookies, without fingerprinting and without third parties – for audience measurement and for abuse prevention and security: page visited, time, language, referring page (domain and path only), campaign parameters (utm), browser, operating system and device type (derived from the browser identifier; the identifier itself is not stored) and the approximate country. We determine the country exclusively locally on our server from the IP address using a country database; the IP address is not transmitted to third parties for this purpose (IP Geolocation by DB-IP, licence CC BY 4.0). We store your full IP address only for abuse prevention and delete it automatically after 7 days; in the event of a specific security incident, we keep the affected entries longer until the incident has been resolved or legal proceedings have been concluded. For statistics we only use the shortened IP address as a daily changing hash value; recognition across several days is not possible. We evaluate aggregated figures, which we keep for up to 25 months. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and improved service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object by enabling “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” in your browser – we then do not record your visits – or by email to ruediger.ude [at] uttek.de.

Payment service providers

If you pay via PayPal, the data required to process the payment (e.g. name, email address, amount and order number) is transmitted to PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Luxembourg. With prepayment by bank transfer, no data is transmitted to a payment service provider. As soon as Klarna or credit card payment is offered, we will add the details here.
